In 8 (cm 24 x 30), pp. 64 copertine comprese. Illustrazioni, foto, strisce di fumetti. Brossura editoriale. Numero dell’aprile 1968 di questa rivista satirica francese. “Hara-Kiri. Journal bete et mechant [Stupid, Evil Journal] appeared from 1960 to 1989 (at irregular intervals). Its black-humoured, ostentatiously vulgar approach did not spare the de Gaulle government or the Catholic Church. Several attempts were made to ban the magazine; intellectuals like Simone de Beauvoir and Jean- Paul Sartre fought for its survival. When it was censored in 1970 after having joked about Charles de Gaulle’s death its authors spontaneously published their content in a new magazine they called Charlie Hebdo (pun intended)” (“Speaking Like a Spanish Cow: Cultural Errors in Translation”, 2019, p. 136).
