Riedizione pubblicata dall’editore Reiss nel 1921 delle Avventure di Tartarino di Tarascona che si caratterizza per le illustrazioni di George Grosz. “John Heartfield planned the layout of the book and Grosz drew over one hundred vignettes, marginal sketches, half and whole-page drawings” (Lewis, George Grosz. Art and Politics in the Weimar Republic, 1969, p. 231). “The transition to the socially critical art of the 1920s was realised most consistently in the work of George Grosz, the master of satirical grotesque scorn of the bourgeois juste-milieu. Grosx too began as an Expressionis book artist creator of the charming and at the same time sinister illustrations for Alphonse Daudet’s famoous story Die Abenteuer des Herrn Tartarin aus Tarascon…” (AA.VV., German Expressionist Prints and Drawings, 19189, p. 122).
