Seconda edizione (la prima è del 1702) di questo testo astronomico, opera di David Gregory, professore di Oxford. “Perhaps the first aggressive attractionist to appear in the newly expanding French public sphere was David Gregory. In 1702, Gregory published at Oxford his explicitly attractionist Astronomiae physicae et Geometricae Elementa. Gregory’s work, in its stress upon the physical fact of universal gravitation, was representative of the attractionist approach to Newton’s Principia then growing in importance in Britain and Holland” (J.
